An extraordinary and unmissable opening, with guided tours inside the restoration site and rooms that have never been open to the general public.
The Suburban Baths, a Roman-era bath complex buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE, were found following the 20th-century archaeological excavation campaign of ancient Herculaneum. Built in the early first century at the behest of Marcus Nonius Balbus as a gift to the city of their kind, they are one of the best-preserved bath buildings in the entire Roman Empire.
After the first delicate phase of safety and restoration work preparatory to the future permanent reopening, the first fascinating rooms that are the objects of intervention reopen on the occasion of the Visit to the Suburban Baths of Herculaneum project.
