Pathways for Cross-Curricular Competencies and Orientation

The Archaeological Park, under agreements with local educational institutions, organizes the Pathways for Cross-Curricular Competencies and Orientation (PCTO). These programs actively engage students in the daily operations and management of the archaeological site.

These initiatives cater to the specific educational needs of each study program while simultaneously fostering the cultural development of citizens within the UNESCO territory. Activities are meticulously planned with tutor teachers and primarily focus on the comprehension and dissemination of cultural heritage, incorporating practical activities in the fields of enhancement and enjoyment.

“The educational methodology employed in the PCTO,” states Director Francesco Sirano, “aims to materialize the concept of plurality in learning approaches through the multidisciplinary framework of work within the Park. This creates an organic connection between educational institutions, the professional world, and civil society, linking the educational phase with the operational one. Additionally, it seeks to enhance students’ motivation to study and guide them in discovering personal vocations, interests, and individual learning methods, thereby enriching school education with skills acquired in the field.”
