TRAME IN MOVIMENTO

Weaving stories and places beyond the Resina Market

Thursday, May 28, 2026 — 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | Piazza Pugliano, Ercolano (meeting point)

Jane’s Walk is an international cultural event that brings hundreds of cities around the world to life every May with free, open-air walks. The initiative was created to encourage people to explore, share, and celebrate their neighborhoods, promoting shared urban education and a design approach based on community participation.

For the ninth edition, Ercolano takes center stage with “Trame in Movimento,” a critical walk exploring the Resina Market and the historic center as parts of a single, evolving urban fabric. The route—from the evocative Piazza Pugliano to Piazza Fontana, A’ Ruana, and Via Mare—interweaves diverse stories, places, and voices to reveal the broader networks of practices, people, and spaces that crisscross the neighborhood: informal economies, social innovation, contemporary art, and cultural heritage.

The Archaeological Park of Herculaneum is actively participating in the initiative, contributing with the presence of Maricarmen Pepe as a Walk Speaker. Her presence demonstrates the Park’s commitment to engaging with the contemporary landscape, connecting ancient heritage with the social and urban transformations of the city of Herculaneum.

The walk is part of the research project “MOTILITY. Metabolism of Intersectionality,” funded by the University of Naples Federico II (FRA 2024, DiARC) and coordinated by Professors Anna Attademo, Gilda Berruti, Katia Fabbricatti, and Orfina Fatigato. The project explores the themes of intersectionality, gender, and mobility in urban space, with Ercolano serving as a privileged laboratory for field research.
