In the display case, three pitchers and two common ceramic drinking glasses are shown, all discovered in Herculaneum within private homes and shops.

The pitchers are particularly interesting, as their design closely resembles that depicted on the sign of the “ad cucumas” shop, where, beneath four pitchers of the same shape as those displayed, the prices of various types of wine sold in the tavern are listed in descending order from left to right: from two asses to four and a half asses, ranging from the cheapest and most common wine to the most expensive and best quality.
