The Herculaneum Archaeological Park at DIDACTA ITALIA with “Adventure in Herculaneum” and projects with the local community: innovation, inclusion, and cultural heritage for the school of the future.
The Ercolano Archaeological Park is participating in Fiera Didacta Italia, the leading national event dedicated to education and innovation in schools, with the presentation of “Adventure in Ercolano” and various educational projects with and for the local community. The presentation will take place on March 11th at 3:30 pm at the Ministry of Culture stand (Stand W01 – Spadolini Attico Pavilion – Conference Room) at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.
“Adventure in Herculaneum” is an interactive digital guide that guides children and young people through the discovery of the ancient city through augmented reality, games, and immersive activities, transforming the visit into a dynamic and participatory experience.
The project was developed with particular attention to accessibility: the guide is designed to encourage the involvement of visitors with autism spectrum disorders or cognitive difficulties, but is suitable for all children and young people and anyone who wishes to experience cultural heritage in a more open, inclusive, and engaging way.
The meeting will be an opportunity to present to the audience of teachers, educators, and professionals in the sector an innovative tool that combines cultural heritage, technology, and teaching, offering new ways of enjoying and learning at archaeological sites.
The event will be an opportunity to share with participants the commitment that the Park, together with its partner Packard Humanities Institute and the Variabile K association, has been making for years to engage local communities, particularly those most economically and culturally disadvantaged, in the Institute’s cultural programs, so that beauty, art, and culture may increasingly be sources of well-being and drivers of social development.
