The Herculaneum Archaeological Park is pleased to announce the opening of the site during the Easter holidays, offering the public the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience of history, culture, and timeless beauty in one of the most extraordinary places in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On Sunday, April 5th, coinciding with the first Sunday of the month, admission to the Park will be free, as part of the MiC “Sunday at the Museum” initiative. On Monday, April 6th, on Easter Monday, the site will be open as usual.
On both days, it will also be possible to visit, at Villa Campolieto, the exhibition “From Eggs to Apples: The Civilization of Food and the Pleasures of the Table in Herculaneum,” dedicated to the food habits of the ancient people of Herculaneum. This exhibition guides visitors through the daily habits, convivial rituals, and material evidence of food culture in the Roman world. The exhibition has a ticket and is open regularly on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
