Villa Sora. Results of the archaeological investigations – 2025–2026 excavation campaign
The Archaeological Park of Herculaneum is pleased to invite the press to a study day dedicated to the results of the archaeological investigations conducted at Villa Sora (2025–2026 excavation campaign), scheduled for Friday 12 June 2026 at Palazzo Vallelonga in Torre del Greco (NA), as part of the European Archaeology Days.
The meeting brings together the research leaders—the Herculaneum Archaeological Park and the Packard Humanities Institute (PHI)—to present the unpublished data emerging from the villa d’otium. The work, coordinated by Domenico Camardo, Marina Caso, and Federica Colaiacomo, will consist of a morning and afternoon session, with official greetings from the Mayor of Torre del Greco and a speech by Massimo Osanna, Director General of Museums.
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June (10:30 am – 12:45 pm) will also be dedicated to guided tours of the archaeological area of Villa Sora, led by the Vesuvius Archaeological Group.
