The Ercolano Archaeological Park announces the return of “Domenica al Museo,” an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Culture that allows free admission to state museums, archaeological parks, and cultural sites every first Sunday of the month.

The initiative will take place on Sunday, March 1st, offering citizens and visitors the opportunity to freely access the national cultural heritage and enjoy an experience of widespread knowledge and participation.

Among the openings planned for this edition, Villa Sora in Torre del Greco will also be open for free throughout the day, during the usual opening hours. This is an opportunity to discover and promote a site of significant historical and cultural interest in the area, part of a series of heritage promotion initiatives.

Sunday at the Museum is a well-established event, aimed at promoting the widest possible enjoyment of cultural heritage and strengthening the relationship between the public and its historical and artistic heritage.

Visitors are encouraged to check access methods, updated opening hours, and possible restrictions on the official channels of individual institutions.

Finally, please note that the exhibition “From Eggs to Apples: The Civilization of Food and the Pleasures of the Table in Herculaneum,” organized by the Herculaneum Archaeological Park in collaboration with the Fondazione Ente Ville Vesuviane, will also be open to visitors with regular admission. The exhibition is housed in the elegant frescoed rooms of Villa Campolieto, one of the most fascinating Bourbon residences on the Golden Mile.

The exhibition offers a dialogue between past and present through the theme of food, understood as a central element of everyday life and a common thread linking eras, cultures, and lifestyles. Archaeological finds, images, and contemporary narratives guide visitors through the eating practices of the ancient inhabitants of Herculaneum, from food preparation to enjoyment and conviviality.
